Waiting and Praying

Wow, Parker had a busy day. He was such a little trooper. He had all of his tests and blood work as well as a clinic visit and his 12th chemotherapy treatment today. He did so good. His CT scan of his chest/abd/pelvis revealed some shrinkage of the tumors, no new growth, but will still require surgery. His lungs still continue to show now new growth and no tumors as well. We are waiting to talk to the surgeon. He was in a emergency trauma surgery. Parker's doctor was happy with the results but said that this cycle did not have the response and shrinkage that the previous cycle had. So since there wasn't as big of a response this time the surgeon will either do a biopsy (to test the cells and determine cell type and maybe adjust the chemo + radiation) of the tumors or will decide if he can do surgery to remove the tumors, so surgery either way this month some time. We just hope that he doesn't have to have the biopsy surgery and then another surgery after that for the partial nephrectomy. Then after the surgery (either one) he will have more chemo and also radiation which will have to be done in Denver. So we are just waiting and praying.Poor Karsyn has a really bad rash we think from the motel sheets. It is really bad and driving him crazy. We may have to find an urgent care here. We've been doing the benadryl and HC crm but his face is pretty bad and of course he is itching like mad. Logynn had a great trip to Denver and has been great today. Her nights are a different story and she has been super fussy (so little to no sleep). Hopefully the colic ends soon!! I am sure it could be worse though.Karsyn challenged Grandma Cheryl and Grandpa Randy all day long with the Wii. The boys are now playing with the goody bag that their Aunt Sharon, Uncle Shayne, and cousin Alex fixed up for them. We had to go to the top flight of stairs to release the parachute men over and over and over. They are having fun and I love to see them smile and hear them laugh!

with love,
neil and amy
