3/17

Parker has very proactive nurses. His day nurse, Charla, agrees that his pain should be way more controlled. She is having the pain team reevaluate him again.

He is getting Easy PEP (positive end pressure: a breathing type treatment with oxygen to help open up the airways down low) every 4 hours now due to diminished airway sounds in his left lung. He is not able to cough and ambulate yet due to such intense pain nor can he breathe deep. He has such labored and guarded breathing so he is breathing so shallow and rapid. He hates having this mask on his face but finally on the last set gave in (because it hurt so bad to cry and fight it I am sure).

He is still in the PICU. His blood pressure is elevated too. Now these are all things that are expected to happen after this type of surgery but must be monitored closely to ensure they all improve or resolve and don't worsen.

He enjoyed his time with Daddy this afternoon and it was nice for me to spend some time with baby Logynn too out of the PICU. I went up to 4th and took a nice shower. She was so cutely dressed in a little green dress (courtesy of Aunt Sharon and Aly, thanks guys) with some flowers and pink writing saying "Little Lady" and some cute multicolored striped leggings underneath. Very, very cute. Our stylin girl. Karsyn is off with Aunt Sharon, Uncle Shayne, and Alex having a good time and getting spoiled I am sure. They had him decked out for St Patrick's day too. Pretty cute.

Hope you all wore your green, Happy St Patrick's Day!!

with love,
neil and amy
