Cabin Fever

Parker wanted to get out of the motel today. So we loaded up and grabbed a bite for lunch and then headed to Bass Pro Shop. He wanted to go see the fishys. This is one of his favorite places to visit in Denver. While we were there a professional turkey hunter from TV from Quaker Boy Game calls was doing a seminar and spotted Parker and came over and said to him, "For some reason something told me to give you this," and he handed Parker his hat. Parker was grinning from ear to ear. The guy also said, "I have hunted many turkeys in this hat just promise me you will do the same." And then he said let's shake on it and shook Parker's hand. Was pretty neat.
I posted some pictures of Parker from surgery. The early ones you can see he is so swollen. When he was transferred from the PICU to the surgical floor he was 5 liters over what he came in at. Poor little guy was so uncomfortable from this, the pain, and everything else. I cannot imagine the pain from the incision plus the pressure from the swelling and from the gas.
We are trying to wean him off of the oxycodone and only give it if he needs it at night. Last night was kind of rough but a little better than the one before.
He is doing so much better everyday. Praise the Lord!
with love,
