Magic Kingdom
The weather was nice today. We met our neighbors which were very nice. Neil and the older son had a game of catch going on and we got to visit a bit. Their Wish child had Sickle Cell Anemia. Very nice people from New York.
We kind of got a late start today (which we later found to be a mistake, on a Saturday at Magic Kingdom). It was a packed zoo!!! We got parked and headed to the long buses then to take either the tram or the ferry boat and couldn’t decide which one to take but finally got in line for the boat mainly because it was closest to the bathrooms we needed to use. We stood in line to wait for the boat for about an hour and a half but when we got on the boys headed up to the top deck. The ride over was so nice. It was about 1:30 when we got to Magic Kingdom and so everyone was hungry and Logy was fussy. We were told about the Disney Wish Lounge right by the first aid office that Wish families could go and take a rest. So Parker and Logynn and I headed inn to check it out and wait for Neil and Gramma and Karsyn to get lunch. The lounge was amazing! It had amazing and beautiful furniture, TV, fridge stocked with juice and water and toys for the kids to play with. There was a beautiful stained glass Aladdin window that Parker just loved.
We got our lunch all taken care of and then ventured off. The boys and Logynn loved the Swiss Family Treehouse, which you got to take a tour of. The rode on a few rides and had a blast. They loved the magic carousel, It’s a Small World, Aladdin’s Magic Carpet, Peter Pan’s Adventure, and the magical Castle. Parker loved Splash Mountain (he is way more open to crazy adventure than his cautious big brother). However, we found that getting started on Magic Kingdom on a Saturday after 2pm doesn’t leave you near enough time!!! O-well, it was a wonderful day!! The kids had a lot of fun but they were SO overwhelmed by all the people!! Actually they did pretty good it was Neil and I that were ready for a slower pace. Thanks Gramma for watching Logy so we could ride the rides!!
We were thinking of staying for Mickey’s Christmas show but it was getting late and everyone was tired (and it takes so long to get back to your vehicle!!). Plus it was getting pretty chilly and more and more packed. It is quite a shock when you have been so isolated for the past year, we don’t deal so well with big crowds yet, heck who am I kidding, we have never been big crowd people).
We decided to ride the tram back. It was fun for the kids too and a lot warmer than the boat. Then our stretch-bus ride back to the parking lot was fun, we had a really funny driver that kept everyone laughing. It was too late for dinner at the Village so Gramma suggested steaks. We found this really great steakhouse and she treated us. Thanks Gramma!! Logynn was so tired, she slept the entire time laying on the seat next to us (was a nice and peaceful dinner, lol). Our waiter was a Disney expert and actually works there in the mornings so he was giving us all kinds of tips and hints. He was also a volunteer at GKTW and so related really well with Parker and Karsyn. We had a very nice dinner then headed back to the Village (it was 10 already and so we missed ice cream, darn it). Of course Parker had to take his bath and he and Karsyn played guys in the jet tub until they couldn’t keep their eyes open any longer and they looked like wrinkly little old men (haha).
We will all sleep well tonight!!!!!
It was a beautiful day! Thank you Lord for this wonderful day with our family. Thank you for Parker’s continued remission. We pray for all the Wish families here at the village.
Plans for tomorrow: Either Hollywood Studios or a day at Give Kids the World Village (we are soooo tired).
withlove,
