Big Bear

We are so fortunate to be able to get Parker's treatments in Riverton. It is so nice being at home!! At the beginning of his chemotherapy treatment at Wind River Oncology, Parker met a really cute, huge stuffed bear. He was so soft and sitting on the chair all by himself greeting all the patients as they came in the door. This of course caught his attention and he loved the bear. The office was having a naming contest. Parker's name choice was, "Big Bear." So we filled out the paper and placed it in the box in early December. Well the little guy won the contest and the bear which is the office's mascot now goes by the name "Big Bear." Parker got his picture taken with Big Bear and the office staff. He was so proud of himself.
Now Big Bear can visit him at his treatments and he can hold him and love on him or he can sit on a recliner next to him if he wants.

All of the staff (doctors, office, nurses, etc.) at Wind River Oncology are wonderful. He has really formed bonds with all of them. They have been caring and really accommodate his every need. They make him comfortable and feel special. He has also really bonded with the other patients receiving their treatments. He, of course, is the youngest (the only kid) patient so his new friends are much older but they surely find ways to relate on his level. They love to watch his movies he brings and they visit about Spiderman a lot. These are pretty special people going through so much too.

Thank you to everyone that have made Parker's treatments the best they can be.

I believe that the older friends draw encouragement and strength from their little friend. Parker is a very special guy. I love him so much!! Of course, along with his brother, Karsyn, sister Logynn and cousins Gabbers, Hannah and Kayla! Grand kids are GREAT!!!
